Jennifer Steele is the 2023-2024 Grissom Elementary Teacher of the Year!
Jennifer has been part of Team Tulsa since 1999. She taught at Kerr Elementary and McKinley Elementary before joining the Grissom team 13 years ago. She is now a Lower Elementary Montessori Guide.
"From my earliest memories, I have always wanted to be a teacher. I would play school at home, often emulating my teachers, and my younger brother was always my student," said Jennifer.
"My experience as a student in Tulsa Public Schools was such an amazing experience. I attended Emerson, Carver, and BTW back in the 80's - my teachers were incredible! I knew that I wanted to teach in TPS as soon as I graduated from NSU. TPS has given me many opportunities to grow and lead as a teacher. I have worked for several wonderful principals who encouraged me in my growth along the way."
Outside of the classroom, Jennifer loves to read, spend time with her family, and travel.
